Bookworks and the Albuquerque Public Library Foundation are collaborating on a new literary series, a Word with Writers, which will feature writers in conversation with one another. Proceeds from ticket sales will benefit the Albuquerque Public Library Foundation.

The series’ inaugural event is May 10, 7pm, at the KiMo Theater. The first authors to feature as part of the series will be George RR Martin and Diana Gabaldon, both renowned sci-fi and fantasy authors whose works were recently published in a new anthology, Dangerous Women (Tor Books, January 2014). Dangerous Women is edited by Mr. Martin, with work by Gabaldon and other authors writing about “dangerous women.”

George RR Martin is the author of the immensely popular Game of Thrones series. He is a novelist and short story writer in the realms of fantasy, horror, and science fiction, as well as a screenwriter and television producer.

In conversation with Martin will be Diana Gabaldon, the author of the internationally best-selling Outlander series.

"Attendees will be allowed to bring in one previously purchased book, and authors will sign a limit of two books per person total."
